Baby Room - Nurturing Nest & Nook
Baby Nest is a room dedicated to children aged 3 months to 12 months within the room there is a calm relaxing space with a separate sleep area, a milk kitchen and a separate changing room. Baby Nook is the larger area which is dedicated to children age 12 months-24 months, this area is full of fun where children can explore and experience differentiated activities in accordance with the individual child.
In our Baby areas our main aim is to provide a safe warm caring environment for all our children where your child will receive lots of one to one play and cuddles. We provide good quality resources to stimulate your child’s senses. Babies enjoy a full day of play and fun with experienced staff. Staff plan activities around an individual Child’s interest and focus on the three prime areas of development which are Communication and Language, Personal Social and Emotional development and Physical development.
Our staff are consistent and work in this room all the time to help to build relationships which helps to support the development of secure attachments with children. We offer a ‘key person’ approach, this we find helps a baby to settle knowing that a familiar adult is available, and evidence suggests that children who have secure attachments thrive. In our baby areas we provide disposable nappies and wipes or cotton wool.
Toddler Room - Busy Burrows
Busy Burrows is a warm homely room packed full of fun for children aged 24 months-32 months. In this room we provide equipment relevant to the age and stage of development of your child. We have an area dedicated to sensory play such as sand, water and play dough. We also have an area for art and craft activities. Within the room there is an area for construction and small world toys, also available is a home corner for role play. In this room we offer a quiet area where children can take rest periods and can access a range of books.
We also have a large outdoor area which we use for children under 32 months for outdoor play and physical activities. This is an extension of our indoor facilities offering opportunities and scope for children to learn in all areas in an environment that is natural and encompasses a range of learning opportunities. In our busy burrow room we continue to offer a ‘key person’ approach which gives children the feeling of security and confidence in their learning and development.
We continue to provide a wide range of activities through identifying gaps in children’s knowledge or skills, events and celebrations, children’s interests as well as core curriculum activities.

Our Hive and Hollow rooms have been specially designed for our pre-school children; they consist of large rooms which are exciting and full of interest, we offer a range of activities and resources that are structured to enable your child to reach their full potential.
The aim of these rooms is to prepare your child for the next stage in their development e.g. primary school, whilst also being fun. We regularly monitor your child’s development and find ways to enhance development; we do this by working with the government document "The Early Years Foundation Stage" and planning exciting activities through identifying gaps in children’s knowledge or skills, events and celebrations, children’s interests as well as core curriculum activities.
Our rooms Hive and Hollow offers opportunities to embed any skills that the child has developed. Alongside this practitioner’s will support children in learning new skills in preparation for school through offering children opportunities to take part in negotiations, making decisions, feeling a valued member of our Liliput family and the wider community. We continue to take the interest from the child in planning for learning opportunities we also offer links with our local community for example pre planed visits to our local care home.
